Big checks for the November end game

With ballots due to arrive in folks’ mailboxes in less than three weeks, major players on the political scene are bringing big bucks to bear in the final stretch of the campaign. Here’s a little spin through the notable cash, courtesy of recent filings with the Public Disclosure Commission.1

The Democratic Governors Association poured another $1.4 million into its independent campaign in support of Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s bid for the governor’s mansion. SEIU 775, the powerful long-term care workers union, added $500,000 to that effort. The PAC, Evergreen Values, is hitting Republican Dave Reichert hard on abortion.

Reichert is badly outgunned in this race, money-wise. As we noted a while back, the former congressman and King County Sheriff’s campaign is largely out of money, and there’s been no help so far from the Republican Governors Association or other major outside spending.
