An interesting longshot in the governor’s race

Regular readers know we pay close attention to the money side of politics. We were intrigued to note that a previously unknown candidate for governor, former maritime executive Brian Bogen, raised nearly $100,000 in May after a very late entrance into the race. 

Bogen, who spent most of his career as an executive at Saltchuk¹, which is in various transportation businesses, mostly on the water, threw his hat into the race as a nonpartisan around the May filing deadline. His major opponents had been campaigning for months by then.
