One of the upsides of not publishing daily is that we get to avoid tracking the Stupid Human Tricks end of politics in real time. So Paul was playing golf on Friday when conservative activist Glen Morgan decided to get extra cute and run two dudes named Bob Ferguson for governor.
But we’re here to break down the implications of this stunt. Morgan, best known as a prolific filer of complaints with the Public Disclosure Commission, didn’t quite cop to pulling this maneuver as a cynical ploy to confuse supporters of Attorney General Bob Ferguson, the presumptive Democratic frontrunner, for the benefit of candidates more to Morgan’s liking. That’s because admitting that would be confessing to a criminal conspiracy that could theoretically get him and both of the new Bobs lengthy stretches as guests of the Department of Corrections.
