With $400K raised, her campaign should be fighting back, but it's nearly broke
A couple of weeks ago, when we broke down the hardball campaign to keep former public defender Nicole Thomas-Kennedy out of the Seattle City Attorney’s office, we noted that she might not have the resources to fight back.
If you’re just tuning in, Thomas-Kennedy is running to be the city’s top prosecutor as an abolitionist, arguing that almost none of the low-level crimes the office handles should be prosecuted at all. We’re following the money today. And what we found is that Thomas-Kennedy’s campaign is nearly broke, and never spent much of the $400,000 it used to have on the traditional tactics for winning an election in a large city. That means most voters will likely never see this video.
