State Sen. Mark Mullet gets into the race for governor today, raising the prospect of a riveting primary race next August and an unprecedented Democrat-on-Democrat contest in November 2024. 

Here’s why you should care about this: There’s a very real chance that Republicans could essentially decide which Democrat moves into the governor’s mansion in early 2025.
