Former U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert pulled in more than $238,000 in the first month of his bid for governor, raking in checks from some name-brand Republican donors.
It’s a solid but unspectacular start for the GOP’s current best hope to take back the governor’s mansion for the first time since the 1980s. For comparison, Attorney General Bob Ferguson, who is considered the Democratic front-runner, has raised $3.5 million and pulled in $419K last month. For some historical context, the last legit Republican candidate for governor, then-Attorney General Rob McKenna, raised $665K in his first month back in 2011.
