It's House v. Senate as the endgame heats up
Intra-chamber fights over gun control, insurance, warehouses and weed
This period in the Legislature’s session reminds us of this pithy maxim: The other party may be the adversary, but the real enemy is the other chamber.
With a week to go before the final gavel is scheduled to fall, the House and Senate are at odds on about 20 separate proposals. Two of them — the operating and transportation budgets — are being negotiated in conference committees. We’re going to take a look at some other others — bills where the House has refused to agree to the Senate amendments or vice versa.
Let’s start with gun control.
