Some workers at oil refineries and petrochemical factories can expect higher paychecks under a new law aimed at bolstering apprenticeship programs.
The measure from Rep. Dan Bronoske, D-Lakewood, House Bill 1173, tweaks requirements that contractors doing work in refineries employ a certain percentage of registered apprentices and graduates of those programs.
