It’s Sunshine Week, an annual observance of government transparency and the lack thereof. For a list of traditional observances, TVW’s got you handled. Over at The Seattle Times, Editorial Page Editor Kate Riley offers a case for another ballot measure1 to close the many holes that have been gnawed in the peoples’ right to know over the years.
We’re going to celebrate with something we found in our most regular use of the public records law — combing Gov. Jay Inslee’s calendar for interesting stories. As it frequently does, it yielded an illustration of his penchant for mixing governance and big-money politics, something you can find nowhere in his official communications to the public.
